H Depth or age range for plot (off) [off] Enter '0' for on, or '1' for off
Here you can specify minimum and maximum values for depths or ages of samples that you would like to select for plotting. After entering 0, you will be prompted first for a minimum value, and then a maximum value. These values must be in the units (age or depth) that will appear on the plot. Thus, Dallican Water sediments have a depth range of 390 cm to 720 cm, so the depth range 400-600 can be selected for depth plots. But if the depths are being converted to ages by psimpoll, then the values selected would have to be in radiocarbon years (3000-7000, for example), and if the ages are to be plotted in calendar years AD or BC (menu Li), then the values selected would have to be negative (years AD) or positive (years BC) as appropriate.
The program checks that the maximum value given is greater than the minimum value, but nothing more. Values given can be part of the range of the dataset, or overlap it. Thus, it is possible to obtain plots from different sites with the same age or depth scale to facilitate comparison. Datasets for numerical analyses (menu M) are affected by this option. Analyses will be carried out only on the selected portion of the sequence.
The allowed range for both maximum and minimum values is -2000-10,000,000.
