Manual for psimpoll and pscomb

Menu

Menu M: data analyses

Menu Mc: zonation
Mc.5 allows data transformations before the zonation (by any method) is carried out. Selecting this option produces the menu:
Transformations available:

0 None
1 Square-root
2 Standardization to zero mean and unit variance
3 Normalization of variables to unit length
4 Centred log ratio / logarithm
Enter number <Enter>
The first three options are from CONISS (Grimm 1987), which should be consulted for details of their use. For proportional data, Mc.5.4 uses the transformation recommended by Aitchison (1986) for compositional data, but otherwise uses the transformation log(x + 1). If the program crashes, you may be using a form of transformation that is incompatible in some way with the method used for zonation.
